Island
Paradise Beach Village is a peaceful and picturesque place
to spend your vacation. Set in five acres of tropical
gardens and right next to a white sandy beach facing the Atlantic
Ocean, this condominium resort is a cut above the rest.
Although
varying in sizes and interior decor, all of the condominiums
are in superb condition with all of the amenities of life
at close hand. A typical condominium will have a Queen
size bed and full bathroom facilities, with linens and beach
towels provided. All condos have a TV with cable access
as an option. Telephone arrangements may be made but
there is a public pay phone on site. Depending on condominium
size, a full size kitchen stocked with a full sized fridge
and freezer, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and pots and
pans, complements a full sized dining area for enjoying
meals and relaxation. Many of the buildings have glass
fronted patios or balconies leading to the pool and barbeque
area. The pool has showers and washers and dryers are
available for units that do not have them included.
A
five minute walk will lead to a casino and a convenience store
where guests can purchase most anything. Two miles from
the resort is Basseterre, the capital of St. Kitts, where
plenty of taxis at government fixed rates are waiting to ferry
people about. Through the Island Paradise office on
site guests may book catamaran trips, guided rainforest tours,
scuba adventures, and many other activities. For guests
who just want to escape and relax, there are plenty of beaches
within walking distance where visitors may sit, relax, catch
some sun, and enjoy a good book.
For
people who like to eat out there are numerous restaurants
close by for a variety of tastes and pocket books. The
following is just a sampling:
- PJ's Bar and Restaurant. Thanks to the Internationally
renowned Chef seen on Discovery channel's Great Chef's of
the World, PJ's serves mouth watering entrees, hand rolled
pasta, home baked bread and thin crust pizza, laced with
island spices and toppings.
- The Ballyhoo is located on The Circus in Basseterre.
It is a general meeting place and open for breakfast, lunch,
and dinner. Sit and watch the world pass by as it
is located in the center of town. It is also an ideal
meeting place for shoppers and sightseers.
- Marshall's is situated at the Horizon Villas Pool,
overlooking Frigate Bay. World class chefs. Prices good,
and food excellent. Ambience delightful. Book ahead.
- Ottley's Plantation House is set at the north end
of the island, amongst the sugar cane fields, this Plantation
House is owned and run by a great family from the States.
Here you are treated like Royalty, and the dining experience
is not to be missed. Excellent Sunday brunch with Champagne
to start with. Price quite high - but you are paying for
above average settings and service. Bookings a must and
evening meals are formal.
Visitors
may arrive on any day of the week, and stay for as little
as 3 nights or as long as a month. Arrangements can
be made for guests to be met at the airport only three miles
away and the taxi ride costs about $12 USD. Food essentials
for arrivals can be arranged. If an arrival is after
office hours, arrangements for the keys will be made.
Cleaning of the condominiums is done prior to arrival and
upon leaving.
Guests who wish to drive around St. Kitts may arrange a local licence through a car rental company. There are plenty of rental agencies that will collect vacationers and take them to get their licence. Driving is in the British style on the left hand side of the road. Cars can be rented for a day, week, or month. The Island Paradise office can arrange rentals for guests if asked. For the secluded empty beaches at the south end of the island visitors may want to drive to them although taxis will drop off and collect visitors at pre-arranged times.
